Sir Nick is one of the UK’s most recognised strategic military minds who has served on several diesel and nuclear submarines. Sir Nick was the Royal Navy’s Second Sea Lord from 2019 to 2022, where he was responsible for the delivery of the Naval Service’s current and future personnel, equipment and infrastructure. He also led the Royal Navy’s Transformation Program to deliver a more operational focused, more deployed and better sustained navy.

Sir Nick was appointed as Babcock’s Managing Director, AUKUS and International in March 2023 to lead teams in the United Kingdom and Australia that will manage strategic dialogue with the Australian, United States and United Kingdom governments.
